At Doxa, we make the intentional decision to have the dancers sit in the audience so that they are able to watch the other dancers and participate in the worship experience as a whole...not just their dance. This is significantly different than most recitals where dancers are backstage (and which usually requires one parent for every child to be backstage) but it is only possible with your help.
Parent volunteers help the dancers in their row stay quiet and attentive (as possible) and help with any little issues that may arise. They watch for their group in the line up and lead them to the stairs when it is time for them to dance. Then they can sit on the front row which we try to reserve for them so that they can have a clear view of their dancer during their piece.
If you think your child would do better with you nearby, please volunteer. Two parents are needed per class.
